 Re: Second to last weekend
I would love to go out but I think I will tear up the roads to bad if I drive on them. Gonna have to wait till the last weekend.

thats very good thinking IZQUIK72. Very unselfish of you. I was out Hiking this AM and it is sooooo Soft everywhere. Not only consider the damage to the roads but also consider the poss. of getting stuck. BE PROACTIVE NOT REACTIVE !!!!!!!!

 Re: Second to last weekend
I was thinking of going but with only a 2 wheel drive I am likely going to wait. Or if it is nice tomorrow I may try to find a hartop road and hike out from there. I was able to put my first stalk on a deer and closed to under 40 yards from 400 plus yards. Ultimately I got busted by a couple does I did not see just as I was getting ready to take my shot at big game with a bow. It was one of the most exhilerating hunting experiences to date. I think that just hooked me on spot and stalk bowhunting and I am now jonesing to get back out there!

 Re: Second to last weekend
It has definately been a rough second half of the first month in 2010!!!! I decided to get out on Sat. after feeling a little case of cabin fever from being couped up inside because of all the storms last week. I was up around the 6500-7000 ft. level and there was like 2 feet + of snow. Not easy going for any vehicles, or hunters on foot or deer. I feel it will remain this way until the end of the month. I would be hunting the lower elevations that have very little or no snow. Be careful with ANY vehicle because it is soooooo soft out there. Getting stuck is not a matter of where as much as it is when!!!
good luck !!!!!

Chains make all the difference. If you do not have them then drop your tire pressure to 20-25#'s. No reason to stuck if you don't have to be.
